AirFlex Lab - BeanBox (Toyota MPX - CANBUS Converter)
It's no secret that we love our 1G's and JZ's down here in the AirFlex Lab!
As a result, we've spent some time developing some parts that the community is in desperate need for - locally and at great prices!
Here we have our BEANBox - this is a interface module that allows your aftermarket ECU to interface with the factory BEAN/MPX network found in 90s/00s Toyota/Lexus' - it translates the BEAN messages to a more commonly used CANBUS format.
The module allows you to delete the factory ECU and avoid a messy standalone installation whilst retaining cluster functionality and features such as Air conditioning!
We can bundle this with any aftermarket ECU package not listed at an amazing price! Get in touch and we will help you out :)
Module comes pre-programmed to emulate Haltech IO Box and uses the Haltech CANBUS format - compatible with any ECU that supports Haltech v2 CAN or custom CAN frames
Dyno tuning is also available in house for our Sydney customers!
Please note BEANBOX is still in development - this listing is a Pre-Order.
Technical Info
The AirFlex BeanBox is a CANBUS (Controller Area Network) module that decodes factory Toyota/Lexus BEAN (Body Electronics Area Network) communications and converts them to CAN signals that can be transmitted to and from by common standalone ECU’s and CAN enabled devices.
The device features 4 Analog Inputs (AVI) and 4 Digital Inputs (DPI) which can be accessed over CAN when ECU IO is limited. The device ships by default with the Haltech V2 CAN protocol and uses the IO Box A inputs on the ECU.
The CAN addresses and data can be customised in some cases. Please contact AirFlex (contact@airflx.com.au) for more information.
BeanBox uses a TE Connectivity 26 Pin SuperSeal connector (3-1437290-7) - commonly used in aftermarket ECU’s. The device ships with a connector and pins, however it can be replaced in future if necessary
The BeanBox does allow use of factory functions such as Air Conditioning request and temperature gauges, however also allows expansion via unused factory functions (such as oil level light, Snow button). How to use these is covered in the manual.
